The beating heart of the Volvo FH powertrains is our D13 engine range, available with 400 hp, 440 hp, 480 hp or 520 hp. The Volvo Torque Assist (option on D13 engines) provides the driver with enough torque to keep the actual speed and optimized vehicle acceleration, yet saving fuel. There are also gas-powered engines with either 420 hp or 460 hp (prerequisite Euro 6 specified fuel). Which one suits you and your business best?
Regardless of which engine you choose for your Volvo FH, you’ll have access to an impressive level of torque over a wide range of engine speeds. The result is excellent driveability and low fuel consumption.
I-Shift is an entire range of automated gearboxes that makes driving easier, safer and more comfortable. There’s no heavy clutch pedal, and no stick to wrestle with. Every gear change is perfectly timed – automatically. A range of software packages lets you tailor the I-Shift for your needs. For the Volvo FH, you can also get your I-Shift with crawler gears or with the I-Shift Dual Clutch.
