Flexibility. It’s what defines the Volvo FM. The chassis layout gives you endless configuration possibilities. Extra fuel tanks can be added, equipment rearranged and the chassis prepared for a wide range of superstructures. So whatever work you do, we can build a Volvo FM that’s perfect for the job.
We moved the battery box 300 millimetres to make room for 100 to 120 extra litres of fuel. It can be installed at the rear or moved completely (on air-suspended tractors), giving you an additional 300 litres of fuel space.
The Volvo FM can be equipped with fuel tanks in a range of different shapes, positions, heights, volumes and materials. Sizes range from 150 to 900 litres and can be intelligently combined to maximise your fuel capacity.
On tractors, the air compressor control unit has been moved to the area between chassis frames, providing more room for chassis-mounted equipment or fuel tanks.
Depending on your truck’s specification, air tanks can be installed in a variety of positions.
If required, it’s often possible to specify your Volvo FM with all equipment on one side, so the bodybuilder can have the other side to himself.
Space for cranelegs behind cab can be offered from the factory.
