A host of activities including drawing competition for kids, face painting, photo booth, indoor games, quizzes and merchandise sale were organised for all to participate in.

This family day was also specially organised for the truck drivers of Volvo Trucks’ customers with the objective to include them in the 50th anniversary celebration and to also take the opportunity to continually emphasise on the importance of safety. This was done by incorporating the ‘See and Be Seen’ safety programme into a Driver Quiz activity.

For this quiz, the truck drivers had to partake in 3 levels of theory tests comprising identifying the warning signs and active and passive safety features inside the truck, carrying out all safety checks outside and around the truck, and answer 12 questions about the safety features of Volvo trucks. Prizes were awarded to 5 truck drivers with the highest scores, with the champion prize going to Haree Murughan from Astro, who was also Volvo Trucks’ Fuelwatch Challenge top winner last year.

The event was successfully organised thanks in part to a joint effort with A-Level students of INTI University College who volunteered to gain hands on experience in planning and executing corporate events such as this. This is the third time Volvo Trucks has collaborated with INTI University College on corporate social responsibility events. Over the years, Volvo Trucks has been working closely with several universities and colleges on internship programs and events such as this family day and other road safety initiatives, which gave invaluable experiences for the students to further develop their talent and to prepare for their future careers.
