VOLVO TRUCKS PRESIDENT ROGER ALM VISITS MALAYSIA FOR THE FIRST TIME

The President of Volvo Trucks, Roger Alm, together with two members from the Volvo Trucks Executive Management Team (EMT) Per-Erik Lindstrom (Senior Vice President, Volvo Trucks International) and Helena Arensberg (Senior Vice President, Human Resources) paid a visit to Malaysia on 25th and 26th November 2019. The EMT landed in Malaysia with a warm welcome from Volvo Trucks Malaysia management team and Elisabeth Larsson (Vice President, Volvo Trucks SEA).

“It is a great pleasure to have Roger and team to visit us, after 12 years from the last President visit in 2007. It is also extremely meaningful for us to receive the EMT, in conjunction with our 50th Anniversary celebration here in Malaysia”. Said Mitch Peden, Managing Director of Volvo Trucks Malaysia.

The visit was scheduled with customer meetings and dinner to foster close customer engagement and understand their evolving business needs. Our private dealers, Dai Lieng Machinery and Boustead (Brunei) took the opportunity to join the meet-and-greet session together with Taipanco, Konsortium PD (KPD), KK Timber, Roda Bulk, Swift Logistics.

A vehicle handover ceremony to handover five units of FM440 6x2 was hosted with Taipanco’s board members headed by the Chairman, Mr. Jee Chau Hau, Executive Director Dato Nazari Hj Akhbar and Mr Lee Chan Hooi. Taipanco has taken delivery of more than 130 Volvo Trucks since 2005.

The Volvo Trucks EMT took the opportunity to engage with the employees of Volvo Trucks Malaysia through two town hall sessions held in Shah Alam and Port Klang respectively which were both met with interactive Q&A sessions.  Roger and the EMT shared the ambitions, key priorities and direction moving forward for Volvo Trucks. He also expressed his gratitude to the local team on the contribution and effort in making Volvo Trucks a market leader with a strong brand presence in Malaysia.
