VOLVO TRUCKS EXPLAINS WHAT CONNECTIVITY IN THE FUTURE MEANS TO US

Volvo Malaysia recently participated in the 2nd Sweden-Southeast Asia Business Summit (SSEABS) held in Kuala Lumpur, which was organized by the Embassy of Sweden in cooperation with the Swedish Trade and Invest Council/Business Sweden. The event was sponsored and supported by 26 Swedish companies which included Volvo Malaysia, Volvo Cars, SAAB, Ericsson, Husqvarna and Tetra Pak, just to name a few.
Hosted by H.E. Dag Juhlin-Dannfelt, Ambassador of Sweden to Malaysia and honoured by the presence of Y.B. Dato' Sri Mustapa bin Mohamed, Minister for International Trade and Industry and Mikael Damberg, Minister for Enterprise and Innovation, Sweden. The summit was a great success which saw more than 500 Swedish, Malaysian and South East Asian industry leaders and experts attending the event and sharing their views on sustainability related topics. A few parallel discussions have taken place to exchange more on the topics of Smart Cities, Smart Urban Transport Solutions, Industry 4.0, Digitalization, Circular Economy and Waste to Energy, Connectivity in the Future Urban Environment, Robotics, Automation and etc.
Hayder Wokil, Director of Mobility & Automation, Volvo Trucks was in Kuala Lumpur for the first time to attend and present Volvo Trucks' vision on Sustainable Mobility by Electrification, Autonomous Drive and Connectivity at the summit. This Industry Talk session was well-received by the audience, especially when he expounded on how Volvo's innovative transportation technology can help to address the global challenge on congestions, pollutions and growing population and enhance the future of urban transportation. The adoption of the technology in local market will largely depend on regulation, infrastructure and consumer attitudes.
